Blog -3 20% project Drawing

Hello my name is Sophie, For my 20% project I am doing Drawing . This week my goal was to learning how to do outlines and also learning how to identify basic positive and negative space. I figured out how to do some of these techniques from a drawing book that showed some examples of these. I also used some techniques that I learned from my art class. My mom also helped me with some things that I was confused on that my art teacher couldn’t help with. This week with my 20% project is nothing because I did everything correctly thanks to my mom and my art teacher. So far some things I’ve learned is drawing is a very stress relieving activity, and helps you get the emotions that you have been thinking to be able to get them out on paper. It’s also very fun because you are able to draw whatever you want and what your feel like drawing. I am so glad to be able to share my journey of drawing with you thank for reading see you next week in blog #4.

Blog 2- 20% project – Drawing

Hi my name Sophie, for my 20% project I am doing drawing for my topic. This week my goal is to practice on making my drawings look more 3-D, I accomplished this goal by using the grid method to help to successfully make my drawing more life like. To complete this goal I went onto YouTube and looked up how to make drawings more realistic, and it taught me how to make shadows and also blending/shading. But most important my mom helped teach me these helpful techniques, to be able to make my drawings come more to life. Some struggles I had along the way though was being able yo properly shade the shadows and blend places that needed blending. To help me mater this I would practice on a separate piece of paper. Then I would also go in with a tiny pen that I had to add to darker pieces, and then go in with a white colored pencil and add some highlights where the lighting would be. So far throughout this process I have learned that you need to have patience in creating amazing drawings. I also learned that this is very fun to do in your free time and also making you more creative. Thank you so much for reading this blog de you soon in my next blog.

20% Blog #1 – Drawing

Hello my name is Sophie, for my 20% project I chose Drawing. This week my goal was, to be able to draw a realistic dog. I accomplished this goal I also learned a few techniques including shading, creating highlights, the grid technique, and blending. I went on to YouTube and searched up the video that looked the best for drawing a realistic dog. Most of all I was able to learn new techniques from my mom, and she helped me on figuring out the right supplies/materials that I need. Some struggles that I had were being able to correctly shade my drawing so that it would look more realistic and life-like. Some adjustments I made were just figuring out how to perfectly shade it so that it would look better. So far I have learned that drawing is a very fun skill/ hobby to have. I will be updating you next week on more drawing techniques/ways. I’ve learned some things about drawing but I will learn so much more about my topic. Thank you so much for reading my blog I’ll see you next blog.

Rad Reading- March

Title of my book is Smile, The author of my book is Raina Telgemeier. Some background on my plot is it’s about a girl who gets braces on because of a very horrible injury which causes her to have to get braces. She also has a very painful experience with her braces. Which also comes along with her having to wear very embarrassing headgear and even a retainer with fake teeth until she gets her real teeth to grow back in. What I loved about the book is I loved how Raina was still having a hard time with fitting into her school, and also making friend’s she ended up making friends. Favorite character was Raina because she is still nice to her, sister Ames even when she was mean to her she still was there for her when she needed her.

The quote that I have to prove this is “Quick come here.” This is what Raina said to her sister and showed that she still will be there for her sister even when she is rude to her.

Here’s a picture of her grabbing her sister

My favorite line/quote is, “Thoughts can exist…feeling can exist…but words do not always exist.” Why it’s my favorite quote is because for me it has a deeper meaning which is sometimes your feelings, get in the way of your words or actions.

Sophie’s Dream Job

If I could have any job in the world I would be a veterinarian, the reason I would want to be a veterinarian is so that I could work with animals. Also so that I can watch over them and make the animals feel better when there not felling well and feel sick . I also will be able to hang out with animals all day long and they will make me happy and I will never be sad. This is why I would choose being a veterinarian for my dream job.

Mystery Guest

There are so many people I would want to invite to dinner but, these are my top three : Maya, Jessie, My mom and my sister . The reason why I would invite these people to my dinner is they are my friends and my closest family, that I feel like I would have a lot of fun with them and also I wouldn’t want some person that I don’t know at all just causally eating dinner with me and not know what to talk about. When I’m with my friends I don’t really even have to talk we could could just sit there and still be happy and it not be awkward. I would also Invite my mom and my sister and I would not be worried about having to make sure that everything is okay and that people I’ve never met feel good. So also because I spend almost every day with my mom and my sister and we can all just laugh and have a good time whenever and not even have to try to make an effort. This is why I’ve chosen this specific people to eat dinner with.
